HAPE TOYS

Hey loves, welcome back to my blog. As you know I am such a fan of HAPE toys, and of course my children are obsessed with them. So for this blog post I wanted to show you a couple of their new toys out!



First up is their new product SILLY SPAGHETTI. Who really said you cant play with your food? With Silly Spaghetti kids can bend and twist the pasta in any way. The kit comes with "food" accessories to make crazy SILLY faces. 
 
James really had a fun time decorating his noodles. He kept giggling while playing saying how funny it was that his "noodles" had eyeballs. Honestly taking photos of him playing was such a breeze because how much he really liked it. It honestly reminds me of Mr. Potato Head in a way. A famous food you can decorate with silly faces.

Nextup was something my daughter, Emma was really interested in. HAPE new fun toy TODDLER BREAD BASKET.


This set is made from felt fabrics which are such soft, realistic textures. This adorable set includes Toast, Baguette, croissant, chocolate chip cookie, heart-shaped butter cookie and more, even a piece of cake.

Independence Hotel

 There's something so amazing about discovering gems in your hometown.  One of them being the wonderful Independence Hotel! We had a wonderful stay in the Junior Suite! Everything was so nice and updated in this room. With two very comfortable queen size beds, beautiful views of the river and downtown, and it was right across from a really nice playground for the kids.  Our room offered a full-size refrigerator, seating area, wet bar with sink, and wonderful robes to wear down to the hot tub . Yes, you read that right, a hot tub! There's  even a very nice gym and bike amenities. My favorite part of our stay at this hotel though? I will forever remember and love the spectacular views from the rooftop patio. It was nice to grab a coffee & some breakfast from their restaurant and head up to the rooftop deck to enjoy the breath-taking views of the Willamette River. What Happened.. pt1

I’m going to tell you a story. Some of you know, some of you don’t. For those who don’t I’m telling my story as it’s still happening 4 years later. So I’m going to lay it all out on the table. I was pregnant with a baby girl, not Emma, her name was Makayla. I went to my regular ob appointment and I was told during my ultrasound something was wrong. She had a defect with her skull. I had never heard about this defect until that day, so I had no idea how serious it was. So when I was asked if I wanted to terminate I said no because I didn’t understand. Why would I terminate my child so easily without even knowing really why? So though I didn’t get why it was so bad by what my doctor was saying, it seemed pretty serious so I posted in a mom group asking for some prayers, that they were getting me an appointment with a specialist to see how serious her defect really was. I WON'T JUDGE YOU

I don’t judge everyone that’s surrendered a pet – I’ve done it too.. Now I bet that changed your opinion of me at least a little, and the thoughts of what sort of pet owner could I possibly be. “You can’t get a pet just to get rid of them”. *Surrendering a pet = evil person* is what I’ve noticed people act like lately. While I don’t understand the silly reasons people give up their pets, like “he chewed up my furniture”. I do understand why a lot do. Things happen. Life changes so quickly.  I don’t get pets with the intention to give them up. I don’t think anyone does really. We get our pets because we want a best friend, a furry little creature to love on-Sometimes that’s not what we get. Sometimes people end up with an animal with serious behavioral problems. Sometimes horrible things happen beyond your control like allergies, money issues, etc.  So when I see all these conversations about surrendering a pet I just keep my mouth shut.
