Independence Hotel

There's something so amazing about discovering gems in your hometown.
One of them being the wonderful Independence Hotel!

We had a wonderful stay in the Junior Suite! Everything was so nice and updated in this room. With two very comfortable queen size beds, beautiful views of the river and downtown, and it was right across from a really nice playground for the kids. Our room offered a full-size refrigerator, seating area, wet bar with sink, and wonderful robes to wear down to the hot tub.

Yes, you read that right, a hot tub! There's even a very nice gym and bike amenities.

My favorite part of our stay at this hotel though? I will forever remember and love the spectacular views from the rooftop patio. It was nice to grab a coffee & some breakfast from their restaurant and head up to the rooftop deck to enjoy the breath-taking views of the Willamette River. The kids enjoyed relaxing at the huge firepit!

(Pssssst. I have to tell you, if you plan to stay, stay during Independece Day. The views for the firework show from the rooftop deck are a core-memory)

We got to try & enjoy the food at Territory Restaurant which I highly recommend on your stay here, or even if you're in the area. It's a definite must try.
I got to say, the Chicken Marsala was incredible. The kids devoured some yummy mac-n-cheese and cheeseburgers, while my husband tried their fish & chips. Each one of use was stuffed and happy.

(See that beautiful view while you eat at the Riverfront patio, so pretty, right?)
The lobby also has an open design of views of the river for if you don't want to eat outside.

Of course you have to try their dessert!
Their oversized skillet chocolate chip cookie was HUGE and so worth it, wow.

Being so close to downtown, we got to explore all the fun shops and even grabbed some ice-cream at Independent Ice Cream Shop As you can imagine, the kids were thrilled.
With so many flavors how do you choose?

Before dinner as it finally quit raining and was a pretty nice day, we played at the park. I love having a park so close by, made staying so much easier when you have kids. It's their favorite park.

(Thats the hotel in the background, see how close you are?! Perfect for when staying with kids.)

Thank you so much to everyone at Independence Hotel, we had a wonderful time. The staff were so friendly, I appreciate them for all they did to make our stay relaxing and enjoyable. I'm very thankful and can't wait to come back! it's such a beautiful hotel in an amazing town! Oregon really does have its little treasures.

HAPE TOYS

Hey loves, welcome back to my blog. As you know I am such a fan of  HAPE  toys, and of course my children are obsessed with them. So for this blog post I wanted to show you a couple of their new toys out! First up is their new product  SILLY SPAGHETTI . Who really said you cant play with your food? With Silly Spaghetti kids can bend and twist the pasta in any way. The kit comes with "food" accessories to make crazy SILLY faces.    James really had a fun time decorating his noodles. He kept giggling while playing saying how funny it was that his "noodles" had eyeballs. Honestly taking photos of him playing was such a breeze because how much he really liked it.  It honestly reminds me of Mr. Potato Head in a way. A famous food you can decorate with silly faces. So I hope you check out  HAPE  new crazy and fun   Silly SPAGHETTI  . So if your kids were a fan of the potato head, they'll love this. Nextup was something...

Never Grow Up

I constantly go between wanting my kids to be little forever, and being excited about all the things they’ll do in this life. When your kids are little, you are so loved—smothered, even. So much that sometimes you need to come up for air. But those little kids that need you so much end up pulling away completely left you wondering when they grew up so fast! When they sit on your lap or crawl in bed with you, you have no idea if it will be the last time. Today may be the last day your baby wants to nurse. It may be the last time they need you to lie down with them when they have a bad dream. It may be the last year they want you to hold their hand walking them to school. It's funny how the same moments that make us want our child to be a bit more independent can make us the most nostalgic when those moments are over. But...  There will come a day when they start thanking you for all you've done. There will come a day when they ask you for relationship advice. There will come ...
