HAPPY 3RD BIRTHDAY EMMA!

HAPPY 3RD BIRTHDAY EMMA!
Emma, my little girl, you are seriously our little sunshine. You shine light wherever you go. I cannot imagine this world without you. You are funny, adorable, smart, sweet, sassy... all rolled into one. You add so much fun to our lives. You are a true, true joy!

To the girl who lights up our world with her smile... she will never know how much we needed her. The way she loves us. The way she dances to every song she hears. the way she bosses her brother around (honestly he lets her, anything for his sissy). The way she says "looooook" to every single thing she sees. The way she grabs my face and kisses my cheek...all of it...every minute with her is a pure blessing.
"ZIP - ZAP - ZOO - I choose you!"
Emma had a True and the Rainbow Kingdom birthday party. In all honestly, since the show is still a little new and not well known, planning a party with this theme was a tad difficult. I found her True dress on Etsy, and I made the cake and cupcake toppers. It all worked out and Emma loved every second of her party! She loves True so much so she was so happy with this theme. It was a challenge planning this party, but anything for you baby girl.
Since True lives in a Rainbow kingdom, I tried to stick to rainbow colors. I made a cute rainbow fruit platter which everyone went crazy for. I wanted to add a little something more so there was something than just sugar foods.
I got the idea off Pinterest to try Jello cups. I made them layered with every color of the rainbow. They took foreverrrr to make hehe. As adorable as they were, I didnt know if anyone would like them since they had so many flavors at once, but man was I wrong. Those rainbow cups went fast. They were a hit!
I cannot wait to see what your third year has in store and what adventures life will take you on. Happy Birthday my sweet little Rainbow. You may be three now but you act 16.. Not sure if that makes me happy or scared hehe.
Thank you to everyone who came to her party. Im glad you had fun and im glad I finally got to meet my friends baby girl, Maddy.

Its still so hard for me to believe you are 3!
I think the part about your birthdays that hit me hard is because you are our last child. No more will I have a 2 year old. Birthdays hit you different when its for your last kid.
We love you more than you'll ever know! To the moon and back my Emma!

Independence Hotel

There's something so amazing about discovering gems in your hometown.  One of them being the wonderful Independence Hotel! We had a wonderful stay in the Junior Suite! Everything was so nice and updated in this room. With two very comfortable queen size beds, beautiful views of the river and downtown, and it was right across from a really nice playground for the kids.  Our room offered a full-size refrigerator, seating area, wet bar with sink, and wonderful robes to wear down to the hot tub . Yes, you read that right, a hot tub! There's  even a very nice gym and bike amenities. My favorite part of our stay at this hotel though? I will forever remember and love the spectacular views from the rooftop patio. It was nice to grab a coffee & some breakfast from their restaurant and head up to the rooftop deck to enjoy the breath-taking views of the Willamette River. The kids enjoyed relaxing at the huge firepit! (Pssssst. I have to tell you, if you plan...

What Happened.. pt1

I’m going to tell you a story. Some of you know, some of you don’t. For those who don’t I’m telling my story as it’s still happening 4 years later. So I’m going to lay it all out on the table. I was pregnant with a baby girl, not Emma, her name was Makayla. I went to my regular ob appointment and I was told during my ultrasound something was wrong. She had a defect with her skull. I had never heard about this defect until that day, so I had no idea how serious it was. So when I was asked if I wanted to terminate I said no because I didn’t understand. Why would I terminate my child so easily without even knowing really why? So though I didn’t get why it was so bad by what my doctor was saying, it seemed pretty serious so I posted in a mom group asking for some prayers, that they were getting me an appointment with a specialist to see how serious her defect really was. My appointment wasn’t for a couple of days. Waiting for the appointment we did so much research on her de...

DIY Stove Cover!

Recently I posted about a stove cover I had made for my new glass top stove. I received a lot of comments and DMs asking how I made it, so this for blog post today I will be explaining how.. At Home Depot I picked up a 1x6  and a 1x4  board. (Cut list) With the 1x6 I cut 4 boards to 29 1/2 inch long each. With the 1x4 board I cut 2 boards at 22inch each. *Measure your stove to be sure of your exact cuts* (Build) With the 29 1/2inch boards for the length of my stove, I attached them all together using wood glue. I then used the 1x4 boards for the sides. Used wood glue to attach the boards and wait for that to dry. Once the glue was dry I went in with my  Ryobi Brad Nailer  to secure the 1x4 boards to the rest. I left a few wood cracks as I love the imperfections of the wood look. You can feel free use culk to cover it all. I then went in with my sander really thoroughly to get the edges and everything smooth. (Decorate) What happens next is up to you. Paint, sa...
