Independence Hotel

There's something so amazing about discovering gems in your hometown.  One of them being the wonderful Independence Hotel! We had a wonderful stay in the Junior Suite! Everything was so nice and updated in this room. With two very comfortable queen size beds, beautiful views of the river and downtown, and it was right across from a really nice playground for the kids.  Our room offered a full-size refrigerator, seating area, wet bar with sink, and wonderful robes to wear down to the hot tub . Yes, you read that right, a hot tub! There's  even a very nice gym and bike amenities. My favorite part of our stay at this hotel though? I will forever remember and love the spectacular views from the rooftop patio. It was nice to grab a coffee & some breakfast from their restaurant and head up to the rooftop deck to enjoy the breath-taking views of the Willamette River. The kids enjoyed relaxing at the huge firepit! (Pssssst. I have to tell you, if you plan to stay, stay during Inde

DIY Stove Cover!

Recently I posted about a stove cover I had made for my new glass top stove. I received a lot of comments and DMs asking how I made it, so this for blog post today I will be explaining how.. At Home Depot I picked up a 1x6  and a 1x4  board. (Cut list) With the 1x6 I cut 4 boards to 29 1/2 inch long each. With the 1x4 board I cut 2 boards at 22inch each. *Measure your stove to be sure of your exact cuts* (Build) With the 29 1/2inch boards for the length of my stove, I attached them all together using wood glue. I then used the 1x4 boards for the sides. Used wood glue to attach the boards and wait for that to dry. Once the glue was dry I went in with my  Ryobi Brad Nailer  to secure the 1x4 boards to the rest. I left a few wood cracks as I love the imperfections of the wood look. You can feel free use culk to cover it all. I then went in with my sander really thoroughly to get the edges and everything smooth. (Decorate) What happens next is up to you. Paint, sand.. whatever your prefe

LifeProUSA Treadmill

LifeProUSA Compact Folding Treadmill LifeProUSA sent me their amazing treadmill and im in love with a machine. I am really impressed with the highspeed and display. It arrived 95% already set up with very easy to understand instructions. The treadmill is well made and sturdy. With going up to 8mph, you're set I love to run. I put my earphones in, blast my favorite song, take along my husky and run! Running everyday for just 15 minutes can increase your muscle strength, improve your cardio and health, and boost your metabolism.  Going on a run and keeping a routine of it can be kind of hard at times though. With kids, work, and a lot of the gyms being closed right now.. Thats why this treadmill is so great. Affordable price and its compact. Foldable for convenient storage anywhere: vertically against a wall or slide it underneath furniture.  Bluetooth enabled, pulse sensors, BMI calculator.  While I run, I like to put my tablet in the built in holder to connect with fitness apps.

Never Grow Up

I constantly go between wanting my kids to be little forever, and being excited about all the things they’ll do in this life. When your kids are little, you are so loved—smothered, even. So much that sometimes you need to come up for air. But those little kids that need you so much end up pulling away completely left you wondering when they grew up so fast! When they sit on your lap or crawl in bed with you, you have no idea if it will be the last time. Today may be the last day your baby wants to nurse. It may be the last time they need you to lie down with them when they have a bad dream. It may be the last year they want you to hold their hand walking them to school. It's funny how the same moments that make us want our child to be a bit more independent can make us the most nostalgic when those moments are over. But...  There will come a day when they start thanking you for all you've done. There will come a day when they ask you for relationship advice. There will come a

DIY Board & Batten Wall

Alright, months ago I did a board and batten wall in my entry way. Since then I realized it wasn’t my best work, and I wanted it bigger.. so I set out to redo it. This time I promised I would TRY to explain how for all those who asked. Read at own risk, as I do a lot of projects but I am horrible at trying to explain how I did it all. I get really into the moment and forget to stop and take photos, etc. So here’s a try at it. Hope it makes sense to you. First, pick a spot, make youre measurements based on how tall and long you want it, etc. For me, this was my measurements.   Second, once you figured out all your measurements-time to get all the crap you’ll need. I recommend you go to Home Depot and hunt down these. They are 8ft long, and with doing 4ft high boards you get two out of one. These are really good condition so don’t require much sanding if any which is a plus to me-less work. I got about 6 of them and it was the perfect amount. Third, cut and nail your stuff. (Home Depot

What Happened.. pt1

I’m going to tell you a story. Some of you know, some of you don’t. For those who don’t I’m telling my story as it’s still happening 4 years later. So I’m going to lay it all out on the table. I was pregnant with a baby girl, not Emma, her name was Makayla. I went to my regular ob appointment and I was told during my ultrasound something was wrong. She had a defect with her skull. I had never heard about this defect until that day, so I had no idea how serious it was. So when I was asked if I wanted to terminate I said no because I didn’t understand. Why would I terminate my child so easily without even knowing really why? So though I didn’t get why it was so bad by what my doctor was saying, it seemed pretty serious so I posted in a mom group asking for some prayers, that they were getting me an appointment with a specialist to see how serious her defect really was. My appointment wasn’t for a couple of days. Waiting for the appointment we did so much research on her de

SNAPTAIN DRONE

"Say hello to my little friend" SNAPTAIN  sent me their SP510 Drone and let me tell you, I'm so in love with it. It has been so much fun. Ive always wanted a drone, they bring photography and taking videos to a whole new level. There's so many places I want to take my SP510 and play around with it. I think the beach is our next step! Imagine how beautiful the video would be of the beach at sunset though a drone, ahhhh, lovely. Check out the Drone  HERE Drones are not only fun, but can also record and photograph beautiful moments at anywhere at anytime. As a mother I really love that part. We mamas always want a way to capture those memories we have with our children. With me always behind the camera, that can be difficult, but thanks to my new little Drone friend here- I now have a little help with that. Some things I loved the most about the Snaptain SP510 Drone was of course, the camera/video features it has. Certain hand gestures let t
